Becky's been shopping!! =D

My boyfriend and I went shopping to West Quay today, we brought some really nice chocolate from Hotel Chocolat.   We got the Blueberry Bombes, Raspberry White Hearts, Eton Mess (£2.95 each) and the Cookie Choc Chip Slab (£14). This is proberly my favourite chocolate brand ever! Sooo good. Of course you have to buy some Krispy Kreme Doughnuts when you go shopping in West Quay. Then we went to Boots and I picked up the new Maxfactor False Lash Effect Mascara Fusion (£11.99). My old one is just running out so I may try this one out next and do a little review on here. The brush looks the same so thats good. I also got a new face cloth, pink of course (£1.06). I needed some new lip balm so I went for the good old Vaseline (£1.32) and Blistex intensive moisturiser (£2.54).  I've starting using this already and it doesn't have a very nice smell to it I think its ment to be mint but its not a nice minty smell . On the up side though it does make your lips really soft and it has SPF 10 in it.

This is the two False Lash Effect Mascara's side by side, the one on the left is the regular one and the one on the right is the new fusion one. Ive had the regular one for a while and its almost gone so thats proberly why it looks a bit clumpy compard to the fusion one.

This is a blush from the Quite Cute Collection. Its called Sakura (£18). Its a lavender colour mineralize blush with a redish heart, this colour is very sheer and just offers a nice hint of pearly colour.

Topshop (£46)

Dermalogica Multi Active Toner (£18.75)

Sebastian Professional Penetraitt Repair Masque.

I Brought this along with a mountain of other stuff a while ago from LookFantastic.com and have been using up the products gradually. When I was younger I used to buy face/body products all the time but never use them up because I wanted to try what I’d just brought so my room and my bedside table was full of well.. Crap. So in my old age (22) I’ve learnt to finish what I’m using before going onto the next product. Plus this way I can see if it works or not.  It’s the Sebastian Professional Penetraitt Repair Masque, £14.32.

So what was it like? Lovely, made my hair soft and manageable.  If I want super soft hair I have to use products in conjunction with this but for a conditioner it does a pretty good job. I like to leave this on for a while, 10/15 minutes but that isn’t always possible so I when I get in the shower I wash my hair first then put this on and then wait until I’ve finished washing n exfoliating ect before washing it off. Still does a great job in my eyes. It’s obviously depends on your hair type as to what works well with you. I have dry coarse chemically treated hair.

So would I recommend this? Yes.  It’s not cheap but not the most expensive conditioner out there.  Have you ever tried this? What do you think?

March Wish List

I’ve got my eye on this satin floral dress from H&M, its £34.99. I can imagine this is nice and fitted and just comes to the right part on your leg to be flattering.. but whether or not that’s true is another story. I think this is an online exclusive but i can't be sure on that.

This is my first floral dress so I hope it doesn't make me look old n frumpy. Will update with pictures because I’ve just brought it =D.

Next item on my list is the new Max Factor False Lash Effect Fusion Mascara, £11.99. I love the normal version so one with the "latest lash lengthening formula" in it is just a big fat bonus, just hope it’s the same consistency. I couldn't get a picture of this, I think they only sell it in Boots at the moment, it’s in a purple tube.

I’ve definitely been looking at more things to buy in my price range, this month.. found this on ASOS, it’s a sideways cross, quite small I think but cute, £45. First saw one on Lollipop26 from YouTube. Such a shame she doesn't make videos anymore.

I’ve also found this on ASOS, it’s a satin shirt by Lipsy (£42) love love love the colour but I am unsure about the pussy bow, what’s does everyone else think of these? I brought a shirt with one once and the bow bit was soooo long, it just looked horrible. It went to the charity shop a long time ago and is probably made into a hanky or something by now..

Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink grapefruit Daily Scrub.

I got this a while ago and just finished using it this morning.. well maybe there’s enough left for one more use but hay. I needed a face scrub so went browsing in my local Boots and this first caught my eye because it was pink and it would look cute in my bathroom.. I know I shouldn't be buying things on their packaging but I’m sure we all do it.

So what was it like? Well, I have been a bit disappointed, I don't know what everyone else likes but I like a face scrub which is quite harsh and I can really feel working. Not everyone’s taste I know, but this one didn't deliver, it was to gentle for me. Does it smell like Grapefruit? To put it bluntly.. No. doesn't smell of anything nice and worst of all when u get it up your nose.. I didn't do this on purpose, was having a shower and washing my face with this and tilted my head back, some must of got up my nose because it stung soooo bad.

I’m not going to repurchase this product and wouldn't recommend it, there are a lot better face scrubs on the market.

What’s your favourite face scrub?

MAC Strobe Cream.

I didn't think I would notice a difference when I first got this as I have the Clarins Beauty Flash Balm and I have never really noticed a change with my skin, or noticed any sort of brightening effect. Since using the strobe cream I have noticed my skin looks clear and generally healthier. It could be due to other things as I have more time to myself recently (Thank god for Annual Leave days) and have been taking more time with my face routine.

I went out without any makeup on today (shock horror!) to take my boyfriend to university and as it’s his birthday tomorrow I didn't want him to suspect I was going anywhere afterwards so I didn’t put any makeup on. After I dropped him off I went to the local shops to get a few bits.. Balloons and a banner to put up before he came home. (Yes it is his birthday tomorrow but it wouldn't of been a surprise if i would of done it then as he is home all day). So when I was out in my car I (as you do) took a look at myself and in the sunlight and thought.. wow gal your looking good... JOKE. I thought my skin looks a lot better than it used to be.. and the only new product I am using is the strobe cream. I normally only put E45 on my face in the morning and night time but maybe the "potent botanicals" and the "vitamin zap" has actually worked. It is expensive at £21.50 but if it makes a noticeable change.. that’s not much right?

MAC also do a Strobe Liquid.. I think it’s just a lighter alternative to the Strobe Cream.

A Guide to MAC Foundations.

First what kind of coverage do you want?
Sheer? This is a light foundation and will just add a hint of colour and make your face appear brighter and even. Remember freckles and spots will show though but with a dab of concealer spots can appear reduced.  This is great for everyday and in summer when the strong glare of the sun can make foundation obvious.

Medium? This will cover most imperfections, like broken capillaries, dark circles and spots. Great for in the day and will take you through to the night.

Full? This will cover all imperfections like very dark circles, tattoos and birthmaks.

Secondly what type of finish do you want?
Satin? This makes your skin appear luminous maybe not great for people with oily skin.

Natural? Just like the name it offers a natural, slightly dewy finish.

Matte? Great for people who have oily skin, can be drying so moisturising before is a must.

Shade and undertone?

Select a shade which is right for you, lightest is the lowest number for example NW15, this is the lightest shade MAC do (that's me!) and i think it goes all the way up to NW55 on selected foundations. Remember in the summer you may want to go a shade darker for when you're tanned.

To help you to choose what undertone you are here is an easy guide, if you tan easily you're more of an olive undertone and you should go for a NC foundation and if you burn you have more of a pink undertone so you should go for a NW foundation.

New Shoes!

I got these bad boys from ASOS yesterday

Image 1 of ASOS AVANTI Canvas Wedge Boot

I don't own a pair of wedges but have wanted a pair for a while, they are proberly more of a winter style shoe but hey.. ASOS are offering 30% off so shoes so they were £50 now £35.. how could i resist?? If i would of brought them today though they are doing a "free next day delivery up till 5pm today" deal.

I went onto Warehouses' website last night to and was pleasently suprised at the clothes. It isn't normaly a website i go on to check out the clothes and because places like John lewis and ASOS have some of the warehouse line I never really bothered, but they have quite a few nice things! Would recommend checking it out. Heres some of the things I like..

Bow Belt
This is a really cute bow belt, its £20.

PONTE ZIP BACK YOKE DRESS
This is called "Ponte zip back yoke dress" it just looks chic and classic, a nice dress for dressing up with.
Its £40.

CHIFFON HEM TOP
I wasn't sure about this top, one i would have to try on in the shop first. Might be quite cute tho, and this is £25 and comes in a range of different colours.

(OOTD) A Day For Relaxing.

This is what i wore today, a shirt dress from H&M, black tights from ASOS and boots from Faith from a long time ago.

A Little Update.. MAC Strobe Cream

I was at work today and on the second part of my 14 hour shift I had a few complements on my skin. Today was the first day for using the strobe cream and didn't really think much when applying it at 5am. The only thing I did notice is that it does have a funny smell to it, its not unpleasant but not all that pleasant. So far I prefer Dermalogica skin care, but if this is noticable then i might just change my mind. Will let you know after a week or so..

Collective Haul

Ive recently got some new additions to my makeup family and some new clothes.

The dress is from ASOS i think it was around £60, very sailor like. The 2 tops where from topshop a pink one and a salmon coloured one were 2 for £10, great tops for layering. Then last but not least i got a few bits from MAC, with a free strobe cream. Oooh yeaa!

When i purchased these if you entered STROBE at the checkout they sent you a free 30ml tube of their strobe cream, ive never tryed any of MACs face products and .. it was free so whos going to say no?

So i got a lip pencil in Cherry and that was £10.50 and its a vivid blue based red. A lipstick in Creme Cup (£13.50) and this is a light blue pink and its a cremesheen so lovely formula. An eyeshadow in Vex  (£9.50) which is a soft pale green duochrome with pink opalescent shimmer and this is a frost. I got this as palette as ive got a pro palette for 15 eyeshadows.  Makes it much easyer when finding an eyeshadow. The last thing I got was a pencil brush (219)  (£18) I don't own many brushes and I know MACs brushes are expensive but they are also very good and i don't want to own 5 types of the same brush from loads of different companys I would rather buy one slighly more expensive brush but know its going to be good quality and will last. I havn't yet tryed the Strobe cream but if I like it ill write a review on it sometime in the future. I hope its going to be good, its sounds good from what MAC have said on their website..

"The ultimate quick fix for the skin. Super-powered with potent botanicals; de-snoozes, de-stresses, moistens, freshens and boosts the look of dull, flat or tired-looking skin with a fully loaded vitamin zap and a mega dose of green tea. Brightens and clarifies with iridescent particles and antioxidants. Enhances the effects of light on all skin and in all lighting conditions from sunlight to spotlight."

Vex eyeshadow.
